Coaches Corner with CONNOR GANDOSSY of CREIGHTON

CONNOR GANDOSSY CREIGHTON - ASSISTANT COACH

The meaning of life is not easy to describe or articulate. However, if put on the spot I can't think of a better example than the game of baseball to compare to the game of life. Life is filled with disappointments, excitement, and everything in between. It is no different than experiencing a winning streak or a losing streak. The game of baseball provides opportunity for many, just like life. The great thing is if you go down swinging there is always another opportunity.

Baseball can certainly be disappointing, with so many inconsistent factors - but that is the thing that makes it energizing! It is a game of unpredictability...in simple terms, it is the game of life. Baseball makes you work through each struggle and propel yourself to attempt new things. We play each diversion and experience each day without bounds since we never know when the last amusement or day of our lives will come.

If you aren’t disciplined or focused in the game of baseball, you will often find the game speeds up on you and ultimately passes you by. The most minuscule details mean everything in baseball. It is a game of discipline and focus. We cannot assume in life or baseball, rather, we must rely on our disciplined approach to tackle anything that crosses our path. We achieve this through determination and hard work. It is a process we chase until someone tells us our time is up.
